So, here are the photographs.
ANNUAL CONFERENCE OF THE INDIAN MATHEMATICAL SOCIETY DECEMBER 27-30, 1997
From left to right: Mr. Patwardhan, a reporter from the largest selling Marathi daily, my student Indra and me. This photograph was taken in Ahmednagar, Pune during a conference of the Indian Mathematical Society, held there between December 27-30, 1997. We were being interviewed about our research work on the use of Fuzzy theory and Java programming with regard to the Passenger Transportation problem. Apparently, in a land where we didn't share the language, our common problems with the transportation problems and the erratic schedules of the public transport, made us come into contact.
My students Sujatha, Indra and Vaithiyanathan, my daughters Meena (in the dark green sweater) and Kama, myself and my student Meiyappan. My student Sujatha is apparently angry in the picture, for the sole reason that she is not seated next to me. Her affection towards me stretched to possessiveness, leaving me in a tight spot. And my daughters are smiling here, because they are utilizing their 'birthrights' of sitting next to me... ;)
My student Sujatha left all to myself. (Or was it the other way round?) If you look nicely into her face, you can catch her *smug* look. My daughters were away, chatting up with strangers, and here was Sujatha's chance. And consolation. :)
INDIAN SCIENCE CONGRESS, JANUARY 3-7,
My students, Praseetha, Anita and Kamala. It was an interesting conference, and among other things, what made me proud was that all the students who came along with me to the conference were just M.Sc. students. In the next picture, there are all the members of the team, Promodh, Praseetha, Anita, Kamala and Yasmin Sultana
